Rather quiet weekend ahead for most of the Lower 48. A cold trough is moving through Arizona with some heavy snowfall around Flagstaff and rain in Phoenix. That area of precipitation will move east into the Texas panhandle on Saturday.
The trough is cold-core, connected to the polar front, but not the most intense manifestation, which remains over Ontario. However, another cold pool at mid-levels is in the North Pacific on the way to the Western U.S. as the parade of storms continues.
