Hurricane Lee 5 pm ET Update from NHC set intensity of Lee at 100-knots (Category 3) based upon aircraft recon observations with central pressure at 948 mb. So the central pressure hasn’t budged all day even though the eye has been obscured or in a double eyewall configuration.
Maximum intensity is no longer expected to increase much beyond where it is at now, maybe 105-knots. The inability of Lee to regain its former glory is a mystery but beneficial in the long run. A weaker hurricane is easier to disrupt as it heads north over the cooler waters of the Atlantic off the U.S. East coast.
