Western “heat dome” ridge rebuilds for a few more days and then pushes east — shifting downstream. The western U.S. then sees a trough and cooler air. The main tropospheric “Polar Vortex” over Hudson Bay, Canada finally wobbles eastward on the other side of Greenland allowing the overall longwave pattern to progress.
