4 tropical systems have all managed to collect around Bermuda in the western Atlantic. How many storms can fit in such a small area? Seems these small tropical storms like former-Gert and Jose are able to co-exist in the subtropical latitudes as long as there is no shear and apparently no steering. Idalia has become post-tropical as it merged with a front, but will also be left behind in the coming days to be reborn again.
NHC 5 PM ET advisory downgraded Idalia to a post-tropical storm over the Gulf Stream. The looping scenario suggested by models is not on the table. Idalia will likely become a tropical storm or hurricane again from Saturday-Monday.
