Atlantic Basin : Tropical Storm Dexter (04L) formed off the U.S. East coast ahead of a trough along an old frontal boundary. Strong wind shear is preventing Dexter from markedly intensifying as it remains on a ENE track out-to-sea. NHC also watching 2 other areas: (1) Southeast U.S. coast for another non-tropical genesis pathway and (2) Central MDR (50%) for an African easterly wave to further develop this week. The latter system will be on our radar for the next week as Atlantic hurricane season ramps up.
Eastern Pacific Basin : Tropical Storm Henriette (08E) will form later today, and it could survive cooler waters past Hawaii to enter the Western Pacific 7-10 days from now.
