Quick update this evening. I admit struggling to concentrate on the tropics today as I was thinking about the flooding disaster in Texas. It’s too soon to cast blame or ask questions about what could have been done differently. I am not a fan of the politicization right away after these types of events. We can always improve our models, forecasts, and communication strategies — and keep people from risky weather situation.
Atlantic Basin : Tropical Storm Chantal’s outer rain bands are affecting the Carolina coastline. Landfall is later into Sunday morning.
