Snowfall during the past 7-days — not too shabby!
Well that was fun! Complete forecast bust by NWS and HRRR for the winter weather event here in Atlanta. I was up around 4:30 AM ET and noticed sleet and some snowflakes in the street lights. I knew it was going to thump snow once the main precipitation arrived. The result was about 6” of packed, heavy wet snow and sleet that was difficult to push with my broom. I don’t have a proper snow shovel here, but did see that Target sells them. Now, after 10-12 hours of rain, freezing rain, and drizzle, everything is caked with 0.25” of ice. I went outside a few times to shake my Magnolia Trees and various bushes to hopefully keep the weight of the ice down and avoid damage. Thankfully, the gusty winds elsewhere in the Metro are not affect me.
