Hurricane Rafael continues to impress over the central Gulf of Mexico heading due westward. 10 PM CST NHC advisory had 90-knot winds with 965 mb central pressure. That’s a solid Category 2 hurricane.
Dry air and increasing wind shear will eventually take its toll on Rafael but we could still see convective bursts that maintain the intensity through Friday.
