Sorry for the late update — a few things came up including an interview with the AP on persistent dryness over the past month since Hurricane Helene. The 30-day precipitation anomaly (% of normal) shows the Lower 48 at 31% of normal when spatially averaged. Of course Milton comprises the largest positive anomaly over Florida. Thankfully relief is on the way for the Central U.S. with boatloads of rainfall as the Gulf of Mexico finally opens for business.
