Soft launch of Forecast Eagle — U.S. Based Interactive + Legacy Weather Maps
I haven’t “baked in” color tables yet. They are necessarily defaults, but the functionality of the systems is stable now for over a week. For instance, RRFS Explorer maps the 15-minute rapid refresh system going into operations in October. You may say, hey Ryan, do we really need another weather maps site? Well, I have been opposed to interactive maps for 15-years mainly because there is too much user friction. But, if you insist about interactive maps, then I figured I might as well build a better system that melds the best of both words: interactivity + static domains. My Maps Explorers are very simplistic, computationally light, and costs almost nothing in terms of resources. Don’t be intimidated by all of the buttons and dials — the site is a big table of contents, and most of that will be hidden under the hood. I’m making a Members section for Weather Trader [paid] subscribers to have more customized control, the ability to automate content creation, and build your own personal weather channel, or load a customized/curated feed. Of course, all of this is insanely rapid progress is possible because of Claude (and Sol) handling the web development, while I control the weather data feeds. I’ve had this all sketched out for 10-years, but no one else saw my potential.
The rest of this piece is for paid subscribers of Weather Trader. The Post keeps the archive, the index and the record; the writing itself stays behind the same subscription it was published under.
