 "teaser_html": "<p>As we head into November, the North Pacific and North Atlantic storm tracks really crank up with hurricane force extratropical cyclones.  During my research days at Florida State (2005-2010) my work focused on the mature stage of these monster oceanic storm systems \u2014 called \u201cwarm seclusion\u201d extratropical cyclones because of the powerful winds around an eye-like warm core (relative to the surroundings).</p><p>A textbook example in the Northeast Pacific / Gulf of Alaska has dropped into the 950s mb \u2014 similar to a major hurricane pressure in the tropics.</p>",
